"This is a portrait of Dolly Parton that is primarily based on an old photo taken of her when she was just starting her career. I've pushed the portrait further by adding two different partial outlines in paint marker over the gouache portrait which reflects Dolly's progression in her career to the present."

Kiara Chatterjee is a visual artist who specializes in mural painting and digital art, or acrylic and olis in the studio. "I love doing portraits, especially focusing on marginalized identities. My favorite themes are history, storytelling, and delving into a little bit of mythology and nature."

Kiara's work includes her "African American Trailblazers" mural in Chapel Hill and "Nina, a Monk, and a Trane" honoring three NC musicians in a Raleigh bus shelter.
